We were named 2025 RCABC Guarantee Corp Top Supporter at the RCABC Awards Luncheon on December 6, 2025. The award recognizes the most squares completed on Vancouver Island in 2025. It is the third time we have taken it in four years.
A square is one hundred square feet of finished roof. It is the unit roofers price and measure in, so the count is a straight measure of how much roofing actually went down. There is no way to talk your way into the number. Either the material is on the buildings or it is not.
The award comes from RCABC Guarantee Corp, which administers the RoofStar Guarantee, and that is worth explaining plainly because most building owners have never had it explained to them.
A normal roofing warranty is issued by the contractor who did the work, or by the manufacturer who made the membrane. If that contractor closes down, the warranty closes with them. A RoofStar Guarantee is different. It is backed by the Roofing Contractors Association of British Columbia rather than by the individual contractor, and only RCABC member contractors are able to issue one. The guarantee sits with the association. That is the entire point of it.
For an owner, the practical difference shows up in year seven, not year one. Year one, every roof looks fine and every warranty sounds the same.
Volume by itself proves nothing about quality. What it does show is that a lot of buildings on this coast, in the wettest and windiest conditions this province offers, were handed to the same crews over the same twelve months. Schools, hospitals, retail, industrial and housing. You can see the range of them in our project portfolio.
It also means our people work under RCABC specifications constantly rather than occasionally. That shows up in our commercial roofing work as fewer surprises, because the standards being applied are the ones the crews use every week.
It does not mean we are the right contractor for every building. Some roofs want a small crew and a short ladder, and there are good people on this island who do that work well. What the count does mean is that if your building is large, complicated, occupied or all three, that is the kind of job our crews were on all year, and the guarantee paperwork behind it is something we complete routinely rather than once in a while.
Thanks to RCABC and to RCABC Guarantee Corp, and thanks to the owners, property managers, architects and general contractors who put the work in front of us this year. Squares get completed because somebody chose to hire us first.
If you are weighing up a re-roof and want to know what a guaranteed roof involves, start with our post on what a free estimate includes, then call us at 250-336-8088 or reach us through the contact page. The estimate is free and it comes with a detailed list of the work that will be done and the materials used.
