Berwick by the Sea in Campbell River is a seniors’ residence with sweeping ocean views. The multi‑storey complex houses independent and assisted‑living units, a dining hall and common spaces. We were engaged early in the project to help choose materials that would perform in a marine environment without detracting from the building’s contemporary design. Our crews installed a durable roof and fabricated custom metal cladding for balconies, soffits and parapets. Working among residents and trades required careful planning and quiet working practices. The finished envelope keeps the building dry, meets local energy codes and complements the architecture without calling attention to itself. Residents and staff now enjoy the comfort of a secure, weather‑tight building with a view.
