Job Summary

Nelson Roofing & Sheet Metal Ltd., with branches in Cumberland, Campbell River and Powell River, is hiring seasonal and permanent labourers. This position helps support Flat, Metal and Shingle crews and offers an opportunity to develop direct experience in the construction industry.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and cleanup of job sites, including loading and unloading materials.
• Use hand tools such as hammers, screwdrivers, and drills to perform basic construction tasks.
• Apply caulking and sealants to ensure proper insulation and weatherproofing.
• Perform heavy lifting of materials and equipment safely throughout the workday.

Requirements

• No prior experience is necessary.
• Applicants must be able to climb ladders, work at heights and lift to 50lbs.
• Responsible and have reliable transportation to our shop or job site for early morning starts.
• Always follow safety protocols to maintain a secure work environment.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks consistently throughout the day.

Schedule and Travel

We provide comprehensive orientation, fall protection and safety gear. Our standard work schedule is Monday to Friday (7:00 am-3:30 pm). Some projects may require overtime and/or out-of-town travel.
